+100 years building history

Amongst the many projects carried out by the OHL Group over more than one hundred years of history are certain emblematic works in terms of size, complexity, technical innovation or social scope. This section gathers a non-exhaustive catalogue of some of these activities.


Institute for Infants Bridge. Czech Republic

The Institute for Infants Bridge was built over the Morava River in Olomouc (Czech Republic), in 2008, carrying a local road. It has a span of 64.9 m long and a concrete slab suspended on double plane steel arch with a rise of 8.8 m.


Medellín Tram (Colombia) and AirportLink Railway Connection (USA)

The Medellín Tram, inaugurated in 2015 in Colombia, is the first modern tramway system in Latin America. In 2012, the AirportLink Railway Connection was inaugurated. It is the first construction project in the railway sector achieved by a Spanish company in the United States and the first stage of the extension project for the Miami Subway through the new Orange Line.


Red Vial 4 Toll Road (Peru) and Miami Highway Interchange (USA)

Improvement and widening of Red Vial 4 Toll Road, integrated in the Pan-American Highway North, main road link that runs along the Peruvian coast. In USA, the company finished the construction of the largest highway interchange in Miami, in Florida, with four levels of circulation and a height of up to 32 m


Port of A Coruña Port and Port of Gijón (Spain)

In 2012, OHL was awarded the project to extend and improve the outer port at Punta Langosteira, in A Coruña (Spain). Among the works, outstanding is the use of Cubipod to built the protection layer of mound breakwaters. Also in Spain, the company has carried out the expansion of the mineral ore dock "El Musel", in the Port of Gijón, in 2000.


La Reina Military Hospital (Chile) and Villalba General Hospital (Spain)

The new La Reina Military Hospital, with a surface of 86,350 10,000 citizens and opened in 2014.
